My Second Favorite Car Has a Video (Automotive)

If you ever look on the right side of the blog you might have seen a list of my two favorite cars at the moment. #1 is the 997 GT3, but the second is the MTM Supercharged Audi RS4. The RS4 is an amazing car on it's own, but when it's supercharged to 535hp and retains it's 8,250 rpm redline how can you not be in love? The video above and the review below may give some explanation as to why this thing is just awesome. Even better though, just imagine supercharging an avant. (wagon) Now were talking.

European Car's review here.

Thank to autoblog for bringing this to my attention, and the guys at audiworld for making the video in the first place.

Go Fly A Kite, Audi Style (Automotive Advertising)

Here is a cool little ad for the new Audi A5. It's not as out there and creative as that Peuguot ad I featured here a few days ago, but it's still a very unique idea. The kite was successfully pulled and flown by the two Audi A5's. No specific effects were used. Plus, it happens to coincide nicely with my own recent interest in kites. I kid you not, I bought my first stunt kite about 2 weeks ago and towed it off the wing of my Sti. Alright, I'm kidding about that last part, but I really did buy a stunt kite. Welcome to the twilight zone.

The video below is a short about the making of the commercial. It's definitely worth a look to see how it all went down.

A Shooting in Mexico (Automotive Advertising)

A brand new tv spot for the Audi R8 debuted today. It is beautifully done, but not quite as exciting to the enthusiast as the Shells spot I posted a few days ago. Regardless, it is much better than the average car advertisement. Being in advertising, I can truly appreciate how much money, time, effort, and man power went in these 60 precious seconds. There are some wow facts that I feel are worth mentioning. My only complaints are in regards to the lack of engine and exhaust noise. The RS4 based V8 has an amazing sound, and I didn't hear enough of it in the ad. It should of played loudly as it pulled away from the light at the end. Just my opinion of course. The actual ad is HD, so the crappy Youtube quality will not do it justice. As soon as I find a link or source for the HD version I will post it here.

- 1050 extras

- 6 days of filming at two different race tracks in Mexico

- 100 person crew

- 10km of film

- one and a half months of editing and post production

Enjoy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeyfwSC1ZkE)
